Mr. Gibson grew up in an entrepreneurial family and has diverse background working in Technology, Software and Online Sales & Marketing. Over the course of his career has worked in a number of successful start ups. The most recent, prior to co-founding MindShift Partners, was j2 Global Communications / eFax (NASDAQ: JCOM). He was hired on as the tenth employee in 1996 and was with the company until 2004, the year the company first exceeded $100MM in revenues and hit a market cap of $1B.
His initial role at j2 Global Communications was in Finance & Accounting, where managed the accounting department and analyzed opportunities for the expansion of j2’s services into new international markets. This work led to his promotion to Director of International Partnerships in 1997, where he worked closely with j2's Chairman/CEO and CFO to develop strategic partner relationships in Europe and Asia.
j2 went public on the NASDAQ in 1999 and, following acquisition of eFax in 2000, Mr. Gibson co-founded the corporate sales department to focus on opportunities in the domestic enterprise market. Gibson would eventually close over 250 corporate accounts during his sales career and generate over $6MM in revenue for the company. Mr. Gibson negotiated and signed Fortune 500 clients in banking, insurance and entertainment. He signed j2's largest corporate customer, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and grew the account to over $1MM in annual sales.
